Information collected

When a person registers a buyer account, XFlynn collects the name, email address, mobile number, street address, town or suburb, postcode, automatically generated bidder alias, verification status, account status and bid activity supplied through the website.

Why it is collected

The information is used to verify buyers, operate auctions, record bids, contact successful and outbid buyers, arrange payment, collection, local delivery or shipping, prevent duplicate accounts or misuse, resolve disputes and maintain reasonable business records.

Account-integrity information

To help prevent multiple accounts, automated registrations, brute-force attempts and auction manipulation, the website may process technical information including IP address, browser details, security-check results and a randomly generated browser identifier. Selected contact details may be converted into one-way security hashes for duplicate detection. These security values are not displayed publicly.

Manual account review

A registration may be held for manual review if it appears to duplicate another account or shows unusual activity. XFlynn can approve, continue reviewing or suspend a buyer account. Email verification alone does not override a review or suspension.

Public information

During an active auction, the current bid and number of bids may be shown publicly. Detailed bid history is available only to signed-in, email-verified buyer accounts and uses automatically generated bidder aliases. A buyer's name, email address, mobile number, address and private maximum bid are not shown in bid history. When an auction is completed, the parcel listing and bid history are retired from the public auction page; transaction records remain available privately where required to complete the sale and maintain business records.

Service providers

The website uses Cloudflare services for hosting, database storage, image storage and security, and an email delivery provider to send verification and auction messages. When shipping is selected, necessary recipient, address, phone and parcel details may also be provided to the chosen carrier or delivery service to create labels, tracking, signature and any requested cover. These providers process information only as needed to operate the service.

Embedded parcel videos

When a parcel listing includes an embedded YouTube video, the video is supplied by YouTube. Loading or playing it may allow YouTube to receive technical information such as an IP address, browser details and viewing activity under its own terms and privacy practices.

Retention and access

Information is kept for as long as reasonably required to operate auctions, complete transactions, investigate misuse, resolve disputes, maintain records or meet legal obligations. To ask about information associated with your buyer account, contact XFlynn directly.
